Advantages of smaller diameter.
We suggest to consider the elementary calculation of advantage of a lining of the pipeline of greater diameter for two smaller diameters.
The basic advantage of pipelines from plastics is their flexibility that enables their deliveries in bays. The length of pieces of a pipe thus increases, and the quantity of joints is reduced. We shall consider an example of a lining 1Km. Pipes in diameter 160mm.
Length of pieces - 12m.
Quantity of joints 82 pieces.
Quantity boxes with a mortgage heating element too 82 pieces.
Cost of one box nearby 592 rub. we shall increase on 82 it is received 48544 rub. That it turns out if to lay two pipes in diameter 110mm instead of a pipe in diameter 160mm.
Length of pieces - 200m.
Quantity of joints - 4 it is multiplied on 2 =8 pieces
Quantity boxes with a mortgage heating element 8 pieces.
Cost of one box nearby 321 rub. we shall increase on 8 it is received 2568 rub. Direct benefit makes 45976 rub.
Conditional pass of a pipe in diameter 160mm makes 120mm
Conditional pass of a pipe in diameter 110mm makes 85mm
Let's lead calculation of replacement of the pipeline: Let speed of movement of pumped over product V = 1,5m/sec., at all other identical parameters as viscosity, a roughness, specific density, from equation Bernoulli we shall define the charge of a liquid for a pipe with internal diameter 120mm.:
Q =Vnd2/4; Q = (1.5 x 3.14 x 0.122)/4=16.9l/sec.
For two pipes with internal diameter 85mm, the charge of a liquid is equal:
Q =Vnd2/2; Q = (1.5 x 3.14 x 0.0852)/2=17l/sec.
Now we shall consider parameters of pressure:
The pipe in diameter 160mm has working pressure upon water 40Atm., and a pipe in diameter 110mm.-60Atm. It on 50 % above. Considering that in pipes of smaller diameter will be above loss on friction, due to increase in contact of a proceeding liquid with walls of a pipe, it reduces volume of an output of a pumped over liquid, but it in comparison with a difference in pressure not so significant. Conditionally speaking for the same time interval on two pipes in diameter 110mm it is possible to pump over liquids more, than on one pipe in diameter 160mm. Benefit is obvious.
There is one more argument in favour of use of pipes of smaller diameter, it that at an emergency of one pipe, the second represents itself as the doubler without switching-off of the general stream of a pumped over liquid.
Additional expenses are coming in units of a binding and an outcome of the pipeline on taps and two additional latches, but all the listed advantages cover these compelled expenses.
The note: the prices on boxes are specified under the price-list of holding EuroTrubPlast Ltd. without the tax.
Calculations also show, that it is not always favourable to change a pipe of the big diameter for some pipes of smaller diameter.
